WANTED: WOMEN WHO WANT TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
JOIN THE AWLA-MARICOPA CHAPTER
STEERING COMMITTEE FOR 2022
The Maricopa Chapter Executive and Steering Committees comprise the leadership for the Chapter. Maricopa Chapter is looking for interested individuals to join the Maricopa Steering Committee (SC) for 2022. SC members are expected to attend SC meetings and AWLA's statewide and Chapter events. They are also expected to join and actively participate in 1-2 committees. A list of statewide and Chapter committees may be found on the website by logging in as a member and clicking on the "committees" tab on the left side.
SC MEETINGS FOR 2022
Annual Planning Retreat:
A Saturday in January 2022 (date TBD)
Monthly Meetings:
Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of the month at 5:30 p.m. and last an hour to an hour and a half.
Dates are subject to change for July, September and October 2022
due to holidays.
Because of the pandemic, we are holding meetings via Zoom.
If meetings go live in 2022, they will be held at a law firm in Phoenix, followed by a voluntary no-host dinner at a restaurant chosen by our dinner coordinator.
While we understand that not everyone can make all events, we do expect participation in major membership events, such as our monthly membership meeting and luncheon at the University Club (last Wednesday of the month, generally none in June or November, and December luncheon is held the second Wednesday of the month due to the holidays), and membership drive events such as our Annual Open House and new member happy hour in December.
To apply, please send (1) a statement explaining why you are interested and how you can participate in the Maricopa Chapter leadership on the SC, and (2) a current résumé or bio in paragraph form (for those of you who have a bio on your firm or agency website, that will suffice for the résumé or bio portion of the application).
The documents supporting your application must be emailed to Paige Martin at paigemartinesq@aol.com no later than October 22, 2021. If you have questions about the commitments for Steering Committee members, feel free to reach out to Paige.
