Join the Civil Rights, Migration and Workplace Law Initiative and the ASU Law Student Bar Association an evening program honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and exploring why his legacy matters here and now. Doors open at 6 p.m. with a reception to follow from 7:30 - 8:30 p.m. in the Great Hall.
This program will trace Dr. King's connection to Arizona — including his 1964 visit to ASU and the historic fight for the MLK Holiday in our state — alongside a photographic presentation on the Birmingham Campaign and the Civil Rights Act of 1964. The evening culminates in a panel discussion on the ongoing work of civil rights, featuring leaders who have shaped employment discrimination law at the highest levels.
