$120 Sustaining Member (receives special recognition at events) 

$95  Regular or Affiliate Member earning $50,000 per year or more

$70  Private Attorney or Affiliate Member earning less than $50,000 per year

$50 Northern Arizona Member
(Member rate applies to Members living in the Northern Arizona Counties)

$45  First Year Lawyer Admitted in Arizona less than 12 months

(applies to individuals who are retired from the State Bar of Arizona and all other mandatory bar associations)

Legal Paraprofessionals licensed by the State of Arizona are considered Affiliate Members

MEMBERSHIP QUALIFICATIONS



AWLA welcomes as members men and women who pay applicable dues and meet one of the following qualifications:  

A member shall either (a) be licensed to practice law in any jurisdiction and not currently under suspension or disbarment; (b) be licensed by the Arizona Supreme Court as a Legal Paraprofessional and be a member in good standing of the State Bar of Arizona; (c) be a Justice of the Peace currently in good standing and sitting in any Arizona Justice Court; (d) be a Judge currently in good standing and sitting in any Tribal Court in Arizona; (e) be a Dean or faculty member of any law school located in Arizona; or (f) be a student in, or a graduate of, a JD program at an ABA accredited law school.

Attorneys now retired from active practice of law from the State Bar of Arizona or other jurisdiction, who were in good standing as of their retirement.

Legal Paraprofessionals shall be considered Affiliate members of AWLA, and will have the same rights and responsibilities of lawyer members.

WHO CAN BECOME A MEMBER?



AWLA permits individuals who are not authorized to practice law in Arizona to join as members, such as law students, inactive or retired lawyers, and lawyers admitted to practice only in other states. If you are a prospective client, and someone tells you they are an "AWLA member," that does not necessarily mean they can provide you with legal representation in Arizona. If you want to find out if someone is authorized to represent you in Arizona, you should contact the State Bar of Arizona, How to Find a Lawyer.

If you are an AWLA member who is not authorized to practice law in Arizona, it is your responsibility to make sure that you do not communicate your AWLA membership in a way that would lead others to believe that you are in fact authorized to practice law in Arizona, because doing so could constitute the unauthorized practice of law under Rule 31(a)(2)(B) of the Rules of the Arizona Supreme Court. The State Bar has resources to help you understand what kinds of communications would constitute the unauthorized practice of law, and we recommend that you consult them with any questions.
